Our Weekend at the Reunion

This is a picture of my kids in order of their age, the next one is the cingular commercial, Lol! This is them in order of height, Frank is now 6ft tall (probably more by now!). But with age Megan is 3 yrs older! Megan 17, Frank 14, Isabella 12 1/2, Sophia 11 & Victoria 8.

I LOVE this picture, we stopped by the overlook at Kentucky Lake @ our Family Reunion this past weekend and I had the kids stand up on the edge and turn and look over at me. I can't believe how big they have gotten. And the other I told them all to act silly, like they were going to jump over! Their so funny.

Time for Apple Pie

Well today me & Frank went for a walk down the drive and on the way back we stopped to look at the apple trees and noticed that pretty much ALL of the June Apples were gone! It looked like that the deer & squirrel had cleaned off pretty much the whole tree, we found just a few and were able to pick them and bring them home. Isabella & Sophia (and even Frank) have gotten pretty good at baking, things like homemade brownies, pumpkin pie and many other things. So Isabella suggested we make Apple Pie, so both Frank's ( dad & son) went down and got a ladder and picked the few up high we couldn't reach. They brought them home and the girls started making the pie.
We made biscuits into the pie crust, and then cut up the apples to fill it, I forgot to suggest to spray the glass pie pan (oops, you'll see what happened later) and the girls took part of it and flattened it and then sliced it into strips to lay across the top, it was easier to transport that way
The apples weren't all the way ripe yet, so you can tell they look a bit green, here's where they were laying the dough on the top
Here it is ready to go in the oven (I had to call Mamaw Weezer to see how long to bake it?), we put it in the oven, I knew the dough would get big, because of being biscuit dough, but having to cook it an hour, I didn't know what would happened?
Well Apparently it wasn't to bad, we were so excited to try it I forgot to take a picture of it when we took it out, and you notice where I didn't spray the pan that it stuck awfully bad, but we ate it, it wasn't too bad, next time we'll spray the pan and add more sugar to the apples and use a pie crust instead. But it was a good try.
